Sorry to hear you were both down with the flu - never fun, and especially not on a holiday. And the weather. And in those northern latitudes, days are really short.stickyvicky wrote: ↑December 20th, 2023, 4:19 pm It rained the entire freaking time! Dark and dreary! But yeah I'll post a few pics... mostly I was with family the whole time. And I went to the doctor the minute I got there because that flu just wasn't going to go away on its own. Rokkerr got it first and of course gave it to me, he went to the doctor in Switzerland I'll tell you guys all about it on cam!
I really, really MUST get to Norway.stickyvicky wrote: ↑December 24th, 2023, 7:27 pm IMG-20231216-WA0005.jpg

This is from a place aptly called "swords in stone", it goes back to a story about three Viking Kings, one of them was Harold the fair-haired Who unified the Three Kingdoms into one, so that a certain woman would marry him.. It's Kind of a Funny Story after he did it he didn't marry her - in the end he got a whole bunch of different girlfriends and different wives, but to start with, he asked her and she said no because he didn't have any power, so he got the power then said screw you. Haha.
What does your shirt say?stickyvicky wrote: ↑December 24th, 2023, 7:44 pm Lutefisk.jpg

I survived lutefisk! It was honestly disgusting, I can see why they only eat it once a year! I could not find any redeeming qualities about it or any reason at all to eat it unless you are starving! It seems like the restaurant gave us even bigger than usual portions since my brother told them we had never tried it.
It was a really nice white linen tablecloth type of a restaurant, I so wish I could have ordered something other than that smelly mush. But I had to rise to the challenge, and smile and be nice and say oh it's okay I probably managed to eat half of it. The chocolate cake for dessert just didn't make up for it.
I've never made LEFSE, but I'll gladly eat it. If you make it, I'll gladly eat the chef too...stickyvicky wrote: ↑December 29th, 2023, 9:21 pm My t-shirt says "Some of you have never made LEFSE at Christmas and it shows!"
