I never got into abstract, but it's a good painting. I still haven't got back into my hobby stuff yet. Looks like I need someone to come slap me silly, Highwulf, lol.

lol Walt. I thought that was vicky’s job.
Best to not beat yourself up or be hard on yourself for not getting started hobbling just yet. It’s paradoxically working against you. When I slip on something such as reading daily for an hour and get frustrated about missing it makes reading harder so I just say okay I WILL renew it in [X] days or perhaps in a week and then when it comes to that time you do it.
Anyway hope you, and everyone enjoys this latest upload

Yep Walt. I did lots of abstracts over the years. I like a local abstract artist called Howard Hodgkins so he kind of inspired my abstract style just as Bob Ross with his landscape work. Please do share your hobby paintings when you do them. I genuinely would love to see them.

Did this on the loo today. Really sad to say this, done today, is the most detailed thing I have been able to draw in almost three and a half months since partially tearing my rotator cuff. I had a steroid injection just over a week ago. I have to keep my shoulder isolated for the next week before I can use it again but then I can draw and paint like before. Sorry I have been so quiet lately. Just not been able to draw with the arm mostly slinged

I drew something like that once. I ran across an article about drawing an eye. So I drew it, lol. I guess I'm more into scenery than portrait. I also ran across "RTY Art" or something like that. Rebecca Tilman Young, I think. She does portrait painting classes, some paid, some demos free. She's pretty good.

Thanks Walt. Believe me it’s been so hard with the torn rotator cuff. Not being able to work on my artwork or even attending Vna shows and “playing” with the girls. Wanted to share this piece. Did it sometime back but still proud of it. I know, paper is less than smooth. Sorry. T-minus 3 days to 43 and T-5 till I get my arm back and can Finally get back to Vna and art in Ernest. With the eye sketch I sketched out an eyeball and worked outward eg the eyelids then the shadows etc. I was in the middle of a portrait when the shoulder gave out

I can use my shoulder from Friday. It will be so good being able to draw in the way I want. The tear in the shoulder ruined my range of motion in my hand. Could just about do abstracts and they hurt. I just haven’t been willing to risk redamaging it y’know? That’s why the eye is scratchy and rough. It was a experiment

I did this a little while ago. It’s a sketch of “Wolf” the bounty hunting enforcer of the predator race who was sent to earth to take care of the predalien in AVP: Requiem. I am actually quite happy with this one.
And I have finally got back the use of my left arm so I will be uploaded new stuff when I get round to them. Hope you all like then

Emotionally, this is not a genre that interests me. intellectually, I think the sketch is very good.Highwulf wrote: ↑June 7th, 2024, 2:38 pm I did this a little while ago. Glad to hear your arm is better.
Thanks Lance. Yeah Sci fi isn’t for everyone. We all have our own preferences for tv and movie genres. I personally love horror and thriller genres. The occasional spoof comedy. I just now finished my first true sketch using my newly fixed left arm. Will upload tomorrow probably. Glad you like the sketch from an intellectual perspective
